What size and scale should the model be?
It depends on the project's actual dimensions, the available space, the distance from which it will be viewed and the level of detail to be shown.
Scales of 1:50, 1:75 and 1:100 allow buildings to be represented in considerable detail, while scales of 1:250, 1:500 or 1:1000 are more commonly used for urban planning projects and large areas. We assess each case to recommend the most appropriate option.
What documentation do you need?
Ideally, we need floor plans, elevations, sections and site plans in DWG format. A 3D model, renderings, topographical plans and a specification of materials and finishes are also useful.
If the project does not yet have all the documentation, we will review the available information and advise you what needs to be completed.
Can you work from a 3D model?
Yes. We can work with 3D models in compatible formats, although we need to review and adapt the geometry to turn it into elements that can be manufactured at the selected scale.
If there is no 3D model, our team can build one from the architectural plans and documentation provided.
Can the model have a realistic or conceptual finish?
Yes. We can apply a realistic finish, reproducing the specified materials and colours, or use a conceptual, monochrome aesthetic that highlights the volumes and architectural composition.
It is also possible to combine both approaches, representing certain areas in detail and others using simplified volumes.
Can the interior spaces be shown?
Yes. We can design removable roofs, open façades, sections, removable floor plans or mechanised systems to allow the interiors to be viewed.
Depending on the scale, we can also represent layouts, furniture, building services, structures and other elements needed to explain how the building functions.
Can the model incorporate lighting or movement?
Yes. We can integrate general lighting, interior lighting and independent controls for specific buildings, floors, spaces or elements.
We also develop opening, lifting and movement systems, as well as mechanisms controlled via a control panel, touchscreen or app.
How long does it take to build a professional model?
The usual production time is approximately eight weeks, although this depends on the size, scale, architectural complexity and technological systems incorporated.
Small models may take less time, while particularly large or complex projects require more extensive planning.
